I am looking to purchase a letus economy off of a friend of mine who is upgrading to another rig. It will be used with canon lenses on a hvx200. I have looked into the indifocus rails system that comes with the shoulder pad and hand grips. Seems like a great deal, but will I need to buy the support bracket from letus and will that fit on that rig? It doesnt look like the indifocus rig has an adjustable support bracket in the front to keep the attached lens supported. Any help would be great.

indifocus rig is the indirailsPROxvsm for $269

np, just get support from letus, and you can use it on indifocus rails. i had same rig, np. though indi stuff is really low price , thus low quality.. entry level stuff.

Tim makes a complete HV20 specific rig that is not listed on his site. Call him direct and asking him about it.

Thanks

Jason

The Indisystem rig, rails and gear is compatible with Letus accesories and the support bracket also works well with the Indirails without problems. I own one with an HVX200 and is smooth as u need it.
If for any reason you have to put the Letus upside down (I guess thats only with the Extreme, not sure), the bracket wont reach the support screw hole so you will need to make your own (cheap solution which I did by having it made at any decent metal workshop) or buy a bigger bracket from Letus. They dont show it on their catalog online but Hyen from Letus has them if you ask directly. You will just need to unscrew the lens front adapter and turn it 180 degrees to have the screw hole on the lower side again. Hyen supports that idea also.

And by the way, Tim Ovel from Indisystem DOES make great stuff. There are many competitors out there and followers who claim others are better. Ideas or opinions might come and go but the Indisystme works very well with the HVX200 and many other cameras. I can say that as a proven fact.
You should give it a try....and also call Tim. He is a very very helpful guy and will be glad to go out of his own way to help you get the rig as you precissly need it.
Hope these words can help you dus10.

does the indi shoulder mount come with sumthing for a counterweight to be attached?

No, it doesn't unless you choose to extend the rod and tack on additional accessories in the back to balance. One thing I'm not too happy with this shoulder mount is the poorly made 15mm clamp. It's very imprecisely milled, to the point where if I tighten the rod clamp, then I can't put any other accessories on there like a follow focus because the shoulder mount compress the rod spacing too much. It's also hard as hell to tighten and loosen. The padding tends to slide off my shoulder as well.

Overall for $150 it's workable with bare camera and it does make the rig looks flashy, but you do get what you pay for.

Yes, you will definitely need Letus support bracket - I got exactly the same setup here (IndiRails + Letus Economy).
