Help with proper rendering format

I'm filming with a DVX 100A using the 24p Standard setting. I'm bringing the footage into VEGAS on 29.97 timeframe and rendering with DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen Streaming Video template. The problem is this: my opening credits are stretched vertically, and on panning shots the footage doesn't look right.

Should I be editing on 23.97 timeframe and rendering on 24p Widescreen template, or should I be editing on 29.97 timeframe but rendering on 24p Widescreen template? I know we can only go so far with the "film look" on digital, but I'm pushing for the best quality look.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best quality -- yes, definitely edit in and render out to 24p. This will improve quality both overall and in motion rendering.

As for panning, you need to be SLOW and SPARING with it.

As for the titles, you have to make sure they're widescreen, too. Go into pan/crop; right-click on the title, and select "match output ratio."

Thanks. Also, is bypass motion blur the default setting or should I click on the bypass to avoid blurring with panning shots?

Thanks.
