help with music video

Unless you are shooting any kind of 16mm film you wont be able to achieve a look like this right out of the camera. This question would probably be more appropriate for the Post-production forum.

However: Here are some tips to getting started if you were using After Effects

You would need a soft mask to corner off the edges to make it look like an old 8mm camera. Also, there was some good vingnetting going on in the corners, which can be simulated with an iris adjustment and a second mask.

Also, there was what looked like a red strip across the top, this is another red solid with a gausain blur applied to it, in maybe lighten mode as the overlay mode.

There was a green tint to it (like the matrix) use de-saturate and highten some of the greens in the curves (just lightly) If you need, overlay a green solid and set the transfer mode to hues, and set the transparency to maybe 10%

For the oversaturated whites, you'll want to create a a secondary layer copy of the original, and blow out just the whites (using levels) and use gausian blur again to create the soft glow. set the transparency to anywhere between 10-40% to achieve the soft glow effect.

I have not tested any of these methods or have tried a gritty look like this, but you can only learn by trying. I hope this gets you off to a good start.
