help with Manfrotto baseplates

Hi guys,
I bought a Manfrotto 503/525 Tripod for my HVX.

I also bought a Glidecam PRo4000. To simplify moving the camera between the tripod and glidecam I bought a Manfrotto 3273 Pro Quick Release Adapter Assembly from B&H as I'm pretty sure I read that this was compatible with the tripod.
Obviously, I got it wrong somewhere as I've just received it and realised the 503 tripod plate and the 3273 are different widths so are incompatible.

In addition, even when I try and use the 3273 on my glidecam, I cannot tighten the side clamp (to stop it sliding forward/backwards) as it interferes with the camera.

Questions: What is the model of the baseplate that I need to seemlessly go between the tripod and glidecam baseplate?
Is anyone else using a baseplate on the Glidecam and how do you tighten the baseplate down once it's slid onto the assembly?

Just have a look at the Kessler Crane website http://www.jdigitalproduction.com/mall/Kessler-Crane_VIDEO.asp

See Quickplate securing-knob tweak - there you'll find the solution for your problem.

By the way - I love my Kessler Crane!
