Help with Lav Mic and mixer

Hi there,
I need help with the following 2 questions, please advise/help:

I plan to purchase a lav mic but don’t know anything about it, do I buy the mic and a receiver?? would I get a good lav mic between $100-$250??
Also my Camera has room for 2 XLR inputs, however would anybody recommend to add a field mixer? If yes is there anything good under $600?

You can decent WIRED lavs in the upper end of that price range. For wireless, you're looking at $600 minimum for an entry-level transmitter, receiver, and passable mic.

Is a mixer right for you? It depends. Tell us more about what/how you're shooting, if you have crew, etc. Is there anything good under $600? No.
