Help with HD work flow

A question for all the experts on DVX user.

In a couple weeks I'm shooting a music video HD, I was hoping someone could explain to me the editing workflow options. My final output is 720x480.

Lets assume I'm shooting with the Varicam (if that makes any difference) and I'm editing on PC with either prem pro or avid HD (without mojo)

How does the footage get transfered to digital files and brought into my NLE? I'm hoping to use some DVX footage in the shoot as well, i'm assuming i should uprez this and edit at 720P etc, or should I down rez the HD since it's ultimately going out at 720 x 480 anyways.

Thanks!

How you get it in depends upon what format you're shooting on. For example, we use HDCam, so we bring it in via HD-SDI through a Kona. Storage requirements are MASSIVE and expensive-- I think our XServe was over 12k.

We bring it in at DVCPro50 resolution (since it's just for broadcast), and keep it that way until the final cut. Heck, even then, we use the downconverter in the HDCam deck to downrez for air.

Hope that helps!
