Help with green/blue screen

I use premier pro 7.0 and I really want to do some green or blue screen keying. My problem is what to make the screen out of. I've tried taping neon green poster boards together and hanging it from my ceiling, worked pretty good with the keying but the weight of it and the wrinkles were a problem. Today I tried a blue tarp that you find at a hardware store and that had glare and crap and the keying didn't work at all. So if anyone has suggestions on how to make one please help.

I've tried a simpler way than what you did, but the blue screen keying doesn't work well too, it still left some blue colors at my object's edge.
Here what I've done:
Make a blue layer with photoshop (RGB: 0,0,255), add a white text on it, and save it. (I've tried to save it to BMP, JPG, and TIFF, which ended to the same result). Then Import with Premiere Pro 1.5, add blue screen filter. The blue background is gone, but some is still left, stick with the text's edge. Try to adjust the filter's properties but still can't be smooth enough.
Is there something I missed or there is something wrong with the filter?

There is so much written about blue screen shooting so I wont repeat it all here but it is basic and simple stuff. Do a search in this forum and maybe the Adobe Forum. You will get screeds of helpful info.

Sounds like you made a Title with a blue b.g. and then tried to key it with a chroma key effect. There is no need to do it this way and it is unlikely to work very well.

In Photoshop just create the title on a transparent bg and import it into PremPro as a Sequence. The alpha channel will work better than a key. (or use the titler in PremPro which is an automatic alpha channel)

There are only two green/blue screen software products I've worked with that produce usable footage when working with DV. DV matte pro (a plug-in 3 pass keyer) and Ultra 2. In terms of screens and lighting, Ultra 2 is the most forgiving. In fact I've even shot with backgrounds that weren't even proper greenscreen material with Ultra 2 and had good results.

Thanks, Shooter. I did want to make a Title, but with animation. I made it with Swish with blue background. Then I imported it into Premiere and added blue screen keying, but it couldn't be smooth. Then I tried the way I've wrote above, just for testing the blue screen keying.
Maybe craigbowman's & Shaw's way can help. Thank you for both of you too.

Greenscreen Samples with DVX100 and Ultra 2

I think Ultra 2 now comes an offer for a reversible green/blue screen at $100 to US buyers. This looks like the Photoflex 5 x 7 screen I use - great value but a bit thin for outdoor work with the sun behind you.

Have some samples on my site using this screen and Ultra 2 in really variable light during a series of about 20 interviews - each time a new office setup.
