help with filters

ok, i just got a Tiffen polarizing filter- and i screwed it on to the front of my DVX- and now I can't take it off. if I try to screw it off, it just keeps going and going. Any ideas??
 
No man, polas are supposed to keep goping and going. Take off the plastic mattebox in front of your dvx and you'll see that there is another layer of the filter that you have to reach to unscrew it...
 
Yep, Polarizers have two rings. You have to grab and turn the second one to remove it.
 
Trying grabbing it not-so-tightly.

I always have trouble with mine because I try too hard.

I think the rings are really thin and grabbing too tightly warps them a bit, making them stick.

heh, everytime i read a reply i pull out the DVX and give it a shot. But it's not budging guys, i think i'm just gonna wait for that wrench off ebay. i really appreciate the replies though, thanks.
 
Wow, you put it on but can't get it off? Your DVX must but in love with that filter... lol

I went through this also but after a few determined minutes it came off. Now, I just don't tighten it as hard. :)
