i shot a wedding and
got it on the apple and edited it and made the dvd
however there a huge quality loss from what it looks
like while im editing to when its on dvd. it was shot
on 2, 3:4 one ccd cameras and on 3 ccd camera is 4:3
and when i go to export out of fcp 5 i have tried using
quicktime movie dv ntsc 48khz and compressor mpeg2 90
min best quality both set to 4:3 and then in dvd
studio pro my encode settings r 2 pass vbr or
something and best quality everything and yet the
quality still looks bad, i even tried exporting out of
fcp5 10bit uncompressed? i was wondering as to what
settings u use and what the end quality looks like.
and what r peoples setting for exporting in fcp and encoding in dvd studio, if i have the settings i can just punch them in and finish lol, but i do want highest quality even if it takes all day to render. my deadline really is today but please ask me any question u need to.

What do you mean by looking bad? And, just to be sure, are you using a TV/NTSC monitor while editing, or is the first time you see it on a TV from the DVD?

no i edit with a broadcast monitor at all times and i use to have adobe premiere pro and the quality on dvd was really good but i moved to apple to do 24fps and i just love it better but the dvd looks like it was shot on vhs and that includes the menus

The menus, too? Are they motion menus, with footage from where?

You're using 24fps - standard or advanced? How did you capture and set the timeline? What do you mean by "like it was shot on VHS"

Wait... are all your cameras 24p-capable? If not, why would you use 24p? That may be a big part of the problem...
