Help with credits

I've looked around, and can't find anything specific. Does anyone know the specific formula for crediting music produced by a band? Do I need to find out who specifically wrote it, or is it enough to state the title band and record label?

Also, how do you usually go about crediting a short film? As I would imagine many of you have experienced, this is a very small production with me doing essentially everything or delegating to others what to do. All jobs were given to whoever was available. Should I just list everyone involved as being production assistants?
I also wrote, shot, directed, edited... did essentially everything. How should I credit myself?

it's completely up to you. The only time it matters is when it's in someone's contract to be credited a certain way. This is way the credits in most big studio movies are pretty uniform, because all the unions involved have specific ways their members are to be credited.

Watch the end titles of any major studio picture with songs in it, note the format, then go and do likewise.

All that should be included, usually in that order

Another question.

When doing the credits for a documentary, how should I go about listing people depicted? Do "persons interviewed", and then their names? Also, should I credit people that were shown briefly (15 seconds in a 4 minute doc)?

Do you plan on doing a lower third when they are on screen?

I would just do a "Special Thanks For their Participation" section in the credits.

Yeah, I'm going to have their name shown at the start of the interview. Thanks, I'll probably go with that method.

On an unrelated note, Canadian ska labels are really cool when it comes to letting people use their music.
