Help with Credit rolls, plug ins?

Does anyone know of a plug in for Final cut that can produce a nice credit roll. The credit roll that comes with 4.5 is terrible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:furious3:

Do you have Photoshop? Using that I create a 720(width) x whatever(length) image. Then do all the typography in that. Save it out as a JPEG or PSD file, import it into FCP and plop it on the timeline. From there will have to resize it back to 720 width because FCP fits the whole thing on the screen. You don't want that. You want the top of the image to show first. Stretch the image in the timeline to fit the time you want it to start and end. Using Keyframes set the IN point then on the timeline go to the end and set an OUT point and move the PSD/JPEG image so it shows the end. I think you get the point. Render it. Check the speed. Etc, etc.

hope that helps.

I may be wrong, but I think there was a 4000 pixel limitation, so the longest credits in one file can be only 4000 pixels tall??

Just imported a 5000 pixel long image and have it scrolling away. It works. But I am using FCP 5.1 Universal. Don't know if the 4000 pix limitation you speak of is a concern of only older versions.

I tried this method tonight and it limited me to how long the file can be. Any idea why? I have it set at 720 Pixels x 4000. My bottom half credits cannot be seen.

OK, I fixed that problem with the 'free transform' tool. Imported it into FCP, but the credit roll still isn't a solid roll, there's slight flicker. Any ideas?

A little bit of blur always helps it look less like video. Also, I tend to avoid using pure white color for the credit. Just a little bit yellow-ish color makes it look like film.
