hi guys,

since i'm in australia, i think my minidv cam records @ 50i is that right ? so to get the film'ic look i would have to convert to 25p (pal) is that right ? I read that magic bullet can do "True 24p conversion tools, deinterlacing and frame rate converting" and a friend of mine finally got the software ( i'm sceptic to spend the money, until i see positive results from his Magic Bullet ) we tried a simple test, trying to convert standard def PAL to 25P/24P and after the long wait of remdering it looked exactly the same WTF ? do you have to tell Magic bullet to make it 23.976,24p/25p ? what are we doing wrong is their a tutorial on how to do this simnple converion ? we are not trying to add effects just convert frame rate as we are trying to get the film look ( or close to it ).... we are using a XP pro, premier pro 2.0, and after effects 7.0 with magic bullet. Please help..... he spent alot and is pissed lol, he reaction was priceless.... but from all the rave about this product i would say its just us noobs thats the problem. so if in short if someone can tell how to convert a movie to 24p or 25p (pal) from start to finish it would be a big help ! maybe point in the direction of some tutorials to convert to a film'ic frame rate. also i will be working with PAL so i think i will mostly be going to 25p, any help or advice would be great.

thanks regards Marty.

check out videocopilot.net and look for the frame rate tutorial. its really good. hope that helps. im not sure about magic bullet, they do have a frame rate converter, but this will be a good option too + its freeeeeee

great link and tutorial :) thanks alot mate. i now have 24p :) [ from PAL and it loks great ] just one other thing how come when i export or render my movie from AE, its only the movie and not the audio, i had to extract the audio from my original movie and slow it down by 4% to match the 24p file i created, it that how everyone does it ? or can you get audio from AE aswell.

thanks - marty.

I would have thought you could export the audio directly from AE, once you video was in place. But I would not go that route, unless you had to. I would use something like Sound Forge, Wave Lab, Audition, or Pro tools to do the time stretching. I think you would get better sounding results that way. AE's audio options aren't that bad in a pinch, but they pale in comparison to what can be done with a dedicated audio editor.
