I just got an HVX200 a few weeks ago. I am using Premiere Pro CS3 and I am having a lot of troubles with exporting decent looking footage. I really want mine to look like apple's HD trailers. I dont know much about when to use what codecs so any and all help is appreciated. Can someone list for me the steps needed to get really good looking HD footage in 16x9 from adobe media encoder. Thanks

i dont think thats possible.. ADOBE and QUicktime dont like one another.. best thing is to use either sorrenson squeeze or the quicktime hd coded on quicktimes site.

not having worked with p2 fototage i cant say, but working in SD, i would normaly export SD .avi uncompressed and take it into the softwares i suggested

agreed that PPRO and quicktime (web) encoding do not go hand in hand, but the H.264 encoding is actually very good from PPRO. if you want to make a .mov using h.264 encoding the results are generally very good. or you can alternatively use WMV9 to compress some great footage. start out using the preset, and encode a very short segment of your project, 10 seconds or so. then judge the quality and size, and go from there.

funny thing is i can never propelry export using hte h.264 codec in pro..i've never been able to output any decent quicktime stuff.. i can outpupt mpeg and .avi all day long.. quicktime just doesnt seem to work properly... so i just use 3rd party software

Third Party Software

Third Party Software

What third party software are you referring to and where can I get it. Also, what is the workflow like with Premiere Pro?

i'm not the man to ask about the workflow with p2 stuff... i dont have it.

like i said.. if u go to quicktime.com u can buy quicktime pro and it has h.264 codec built so u can export your stuff

also sorrenson squeeze is one
discreet logic has a suit called Claner XL also
