Can Some one help me clarify. I am about to start capturing tons of footage for a long term documentary, (or at least have the director start on it). We've been shooting in 24P advance. I DID read the FAQ, but I'm still unclear. Is this saying that I Should check the "DV ntsc 48 khz advance (2:3:3:2) pulldown removal" under "capture/input" in the capture settings options, or leave it at "DV ntsc 48 khz". Theres no indication of FPS in capture settings. Is the FPS setting mentioned in the FAQ only refering to the setting in the "Sequence Presets" where you can choose 23.98? I want to capture properly before I get 50 hours into it and find out we'll be losing picture quality or sync or something.
I want to be open to the possibility that a film print may be made one day (since it's intended as a feature), so I need to start the editing in a way that will down the road, be easiest to put out at 24fps. Until now, I've always just used the DV NTSC setting and it looks ok, but I know it's a different story if it may go to film eventually. Even if it doesn't go to film, is there a difference in resolution or anything? Any advice will be appreciated. (I'm using a Dual 867 G4, with FCP4 and shooting 24pADV) Thanks.
