Help with 16:9 project

Hi! I'm going to be shooting some material in 16:9 for a piece I'm doing for a local TV station. I'll be using a DVX100A with an anamorphic adapter. I'm going to shoot mostly interviews, but I also need to incorporate pictures and video shot in normal 4:3 into the piece.

Since the finished product needs to be 16:9, how do I need to scan pictures and transfer/manipulate 4:3 video so I can use them in the piece? Thanks!
 
i would just use the matte filter which puts the black bar on eitehre side of the clip soo its in widescreen. if you try to squeeze it, it may become distorted soo it looks weird, depending what the 4:3 footage is of
