Okay, I'm not coming from an HVX, but I'm having film telecined and tranferred to drive via the DVCPRO HD codec, so its not too far off. I have a couple questions and need a solution.
This project was shot on Super 16mm at 24fps, so editing in 23.98 is ideal. Is it possible to get 1080p in the DVCPRO HD compression? Right now we plan on 1080i, because I've never heard of DVCPRO HD compressed footage that is 1080p. Essentially, I want the best HD quality I can get that I can edit online on a standard G5 or MacPro in Final Cut Pro coming from a FW800 drive, so I think my best option is the DVCPRO HD codec. Is interlaced footage going to kill the film look? Anyone have any experience with this? I'm new to cutting in HD. Thanks, Andrew
