Help!! Vegas 9 keeps shutting down

I am trying to render some .mts files and vegas keeps shutting down after an hour- 2 hours of rendering...i.e. wasted time. I have tried to re-encode the files using ntsc widescreen, ntsc with 2-3 pull down but it keeps crashing. Please help!!

PS- I tried to search the forum, but the search function is not working. I have the latest version of vegas and it shuts down on my laptop and my desktop
 
You probably need to give some more information.

Are you rendering from .mts files or to them?

Are you using Quicktime files at all? HD or SD?
