Hola!

I love Vegas 10. Runs like lightning and gets the job done, for me. HOWEVER, DVD Architect is really getting to me. Today I finished one of my older projects which I have rendered out using the mpg dvd architect setting for 24p widescreen DVDs...

So I drop the files in Architect and when I go into Properties to change the settings to 16:9, 24fps, progressive... 24p and progressive are GREYED OUT!?! What gives?

(sorry for the wide image, my 2nd dual screen got captured too)

For the record, it is greyed out before I even drop any media into a blank project. The media itself seems to make no difference. My 100% legit full version of Sony Vegas 10 is awesome. My 100% legit full version of Sony DVD Architect 5.2, sucks.

Please advise!

You don't set a framerate for a whole DVD. You simply place the 24p MPEGs into it.

A DVD can carry files of different frame rates. There's no universal frame rate to it.

Most Hollywood DVD's are laid down at 24p-as far as I know. Your DVD player does the pulldown to play it on a standard tube TV

The encoding settings in the project properties are used primarily for anything that DVD Architect expects it will have to encode -- most menus, picture compilations, non-compliant video, and compliant videos you've specified it should re-encode (recompress, as the UI calls it). As long as your 24p video is DVD compliant, DVD Architect won't mess with it no matter what the framerate in the project properties is. The absence of 24p from options simply means DVDA won't encode to 24p itself.
