Dear Vegas users,
i have been using Vegas pro 8.0 for 2 years now rendering projects uncompressed Avi 720 by 480 par 9.091 with no problems .but now when i render my project uncompressed Avi it is being uncompressed in a square par 1.000.

to troubleshoot i rendered in another avi codec with avi dv compression and it comes out with the correct par,so the uncompressed codec is the culprit.
.
im not a complete novice with the software but it seems i have reset setting or something similar.

thank you in advance.
Abraham

You're not doing anything wrong. It's a long-standing bug that Sony doesn't seem interested in fixing.

You can change the PAR manually when you bring it into a project.

thank you David,
when you change par manually do you lose picture quality?
is there any other way to render out in a lossless codec like avi uncompressed with the same results?

Thank you in advance

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Vegas and it is not a bug. There is no flag in an AVI file's header to specify Pixel Aspect Ratio. This is a limitation of the AVI file spec, not a limitation of Vegas.

thank you david,
so let me get this clear, so when i export as 873x480 1.000 its going to be the equivilent of exporting to 720x480 par 9.098?

and will the quality will be the same?
