Hello friends,
I'm working on a 6 month contract for an engineering company. It includes three short videos which showcase the progress made on a large, very large construction site. We've been there four months. We've had issues with cycling lights in the past (fluorescents), which result in ugly bars showing up in the video (We're all familiar with this fun effect, right?). Easy fix has been to lower the shutter speed to 1/30th, and the ugly cycling effect disappears. I'd post samples - but I'm under contract to not post material publicly. I've taken a couple photos of the new lights they've brought in, which give us some nasty bars despite lowering the shutter speed as low as I can (1/30th).
I realize this effect is due to the cycle rate of the lights they're using - but because it seems to be substantially slower than the usual Flo's, I'm not sure of the fix. There are a few more weeks to the project, and I have to gather footage of the progress.
Is the only solution to ask them to bring in new work lights? Of course I'd rather avoid that request - but if it's the only solution, we're all going to want to know sooner than later.
Thanks for any suggestions!
