HELP - Split Screen, wireframes, etc

I know how to do this in FCP 7 but lost in X.
How does one see wireframes and re-size clips?
I want a quadrant screen and
I don't want to rely on plugins for this.

In the viewer you have 3 buttons on the left bottom. There you have a control to resize, and one to crop.

You can also access the controls by clicking on a clip and selecting the Inspector (either command-4 or click the "i" button at the far right hand side of the interface

There's no wireframe in X, because we now have much, much better Viewer controls for that sort of work.
