HELP! Sorenson crash on .mov import

Hi all

I use Sorenson Squeeze 4.5 on my desktop and it imports .mov files no probs. I installed Sorenson on my new laptop and everytime i try to import a .mov file Sorenson crashes. I've done a format & clean re-install but the same thing keeps happening.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what my be causing this i'd love to hear about it.

Hey Ben,

Do you have an nvidia card in the laptop? I had a situation where quicktime would not play nice with my 7600 gt and I had to turn off direct draw in the quicktime options so embedded quicktime movies wouldn't crash my browsers. It seemed unrelated with sorenson crashing (I thought it had something to do with the avid quicktime codec), but when I upgraded to the latest quicktime (7.3) and turned all the directx options on, sorenson imported quicktime files no problem. Plus, the browser crashing stopped.
