Help setting up/mounting the Cinevate Atlas 10 Slider?

I'm really green, so bare with me.
I'm having trouble figuring out what accessories I am missing or if I already have everything I need and am just doing it wrong.

Here is what I have:
Davis & Sanford ProVista 100 Tripod, 502HD Flat Base Head & Half-Ball Handle Kit:

What I'm missing is a way to connect the slider to the half-ball. What do I need to buy? Or am I just doing this all wrong? Thanks for any help. Attached pictures.

(by the way, is the half ball supposed to go all the way down? or is it okay to sit the way it is?)

The way it's sitting is fine. There's a tripod screw hole underneath the slider and stage. It's right in the middle since the slider sits dead center. Take the adapter out of the bowl, screw the 3/8" screw of the half ball adapter into the tripod screw hole and then put the adapter back into the bowl with the slider attached. You don't need anything else. It's actually more stable connecting it right to the adapter without a head but you might want to get another tripod head or half bowl adapter which is quicker to assemble. Maybe a Manfrotto MV500 or Benro S4.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated!

I took a picture, is this what you meant for me to do? I originally tried this, but the screw of the half ball adapter is really short, and it doesn't screw in very far. Also, I think the center hole is either too big or stripped (i bought this used), so trying a different hole seemed to get it in further. Is this ok?

SGCman, without actually seeing how much thread engagement you have I'd be careful of using it that way. By the time you add your camera setup to the head your into a bit of weight. When you slide it down to one end of the slider there is a lot of stress on the threads. If they pull out the whole rig is coming down. If your not able to answer your question comfortably than take it to a local machine shop for evaluation. They shouldn't charge to much to drill and tap a new hole. Can you extend the thread up higher? Is there a nut on the bottom that can be loosened to screw the stud up? I'm not familiar with that unit. Hope this helps.

I'd also suggest taking it to a machine shop and having them tap a new hole in the centre. You really need a strong connection for things to work right.
