help replicate this effect in fcpx

If you can't get this effect as a plugin you can create it yourself. From what I can see going frame by frame its just inserting single frames from two different shots. The effect is pronounced because they're going from bright to a darker with one of those shots being shot from inside a car with the black angled widow frame of the car in the left part of the frame adding to the effect. There are 12 single frames of each shot for a total of 24 single frames for this effect.

I have an extension in my safari browser that lets me chose how I want to watch a video and I downloaded a quicktime of it to step through it frame by frame.

@ Mico - Sounds painful with regards to this video but I'd like to know what that extension to safari is
 
That effect is created by keyframing the opacity (100 to 0 and back 100) of the top video. Create the first three, then copy and paste.
