help recover files from Zoom H4

After the new sound man messed-up a portion of the interview with his recorder acing up i forced the sound man to use my trusty Zoom H4 recorder. Unfortunately something happened and last 4 files (out of 16) are there (windows shows filesizes) but the files can't be played - i suspect it has something to do with the recorder running out of battery (but not during a take). Anyway since the files seem to be there is there a way to recover that audio from the card?

So Was it really the sound man's fault or was it just an equipment malfunction just like the malfunction on your H4?

What kind of error are you getting and what are you using to open the files?

I was able to open the file in Sound Forge and Vegas by changing the file extension from .wav to ".raw". I don't know if this will work with other applications though. I could do it for you if need be.
A beer and a shooter works for me!

I was mistaken, Vegas will not open audio files with the .raw extension.
However as I stated, Sound Forge (SF-Pro 10) will. Then the file can be re-saved as a .wav or whatever.
