Help/Rant

Very hard to recover in an industry as tight as the hip-hop artists.

Another city, on another coast maybe...

I don't know what you expect people to say? My best advice is be humble, admit to your mistakes if they truly are your mistakes and move on. We can't get you back in the spotlight, nothing any of us say is going to change you. Good work speaks for itself. People have been in much worse situations and recoverd nicely, but you have to move on and stop letting that be the guiding force in your life. If you truly don't believe you're going to make it in that arena, then as Pookie suggested, move. Or you'll just have to find a new scene. About all you can do. Best of luck to ya.

The bottom line is you committed copyright infringement. You put out a copy of their music without their permission. Not only is this a grievous sin, it's also highly punishable. Count yourself lucky -- you could have been arrested, locked away in a federal prison, and fined as much as $250,000.

The music industry doesn't take copyright infringement lightly, and for good reason. As you said, it was a 'regretful choice'. If you truly do regret it, the best -- and only honorable -- course of action is to honestly, humbly, and publicly admit to having made a bad, bad mistake. Don't make excuses or try to minimize the seriousness of it. Totally agree with those who were wronged as a result, and honestly and sincerely apologize. Swear that you will never do anything like that again -- and mean it. Then hope for a second chance. Don't ASK for a second chance, and don't expect one -- but hope for it. Try to start at the bottom and work your way back up again.

It will be painful. Confessing is hard, repenting is even harder. But it's your best chance to put this behind you and get back on track.

Good luck. I hope things work out for you.

I guess I read the whole thing too fast. Wow, dude, yeah...
