OK fellas, I currently have a MAC Mini with FC Express and I hate it. Cant edit 24P and its a slow computer. I am knowledgeable on PC platforms and used to use Sony Begas and it was pretty easy and powerful. SO, I need to buy a new PC laptop to install vegas on and want something sufficient to edit my short films/commercials on. I dont want to spend a few thousand dollars on some crazy editing sydtem, but what is a really fast laptop that has good reviews I could go pick up? Thanks for your help

I would suggest going to the Dell outlet and buy a B stock Dell with XP. Do not make the mistake I made and get a Vista machine. You'll regret it esp if you like Vegas. Doesn't work right, I lost two projects!
Dell seems to offer best bang for the buck. Be sure to get Core2Duo cpu, the most powerful you can afford.

I`ll go for a Macbook pro. there are some special on the apple store web site.
Get a refurbish one for alot cheaper and it still have 1 year warranty from apple.

The new Macbook Pro does pc programs too. best of both worlds.

It only luck. the offers are different, depending on the stock. i´ve got a 15" 2.33 intel duo 2 (latest) for 1999u.s.

They even send it to your door step and shipping is free. i've got mine send to my friend. and i'm picking it up in June in N.Y

But remember that you have to buy a copy of Windows in order to run Vegas.

More specifically Windows "XP" Pro.

Also, a Dell 1505 with core2duo, dedicated video card and 15" hirez screen is half the price of that macbook.

I've got a Fujisu Lifebook N6420 and I love it. It's got an HD-DVD drive and a built in TV tuner. Core 2 Duo 1.66, 2 gigs of RAM.

I would recommend it. It's a bit heavy though.
