Help: Premiere Pro CS6 Audio Drop.

I am working in Premiere Pro CS6. During my video playback my mp3 audio track cuts out. Its so annoying. I have M-Audio speakers hooked up via usb.

You didn't give us much to go on. Is the mp3 file ok, and continuous, does it always cut out at the same place, or could it be some kind of driver issue. IS it just this one mp3 or every mp3? Do wavs work ok? When it cuts out, do the meters in PP stop functioning? If the meters carry on working, it could be an issue with the M-audio driver? Nobody can post a proper reply until you tell us what you have already tried?

Do your other projects work? You need to break it down step by step. For what it's worth - on a couple of other programmes I use with an M-audio interface, the audio drops out when I run two audio programmes at the same time - Sony Soundforge has a habit on this system of trying to keep the driver rather than allow Cubase to use it, and trying to play a file on cubase at the same time usually means it stops half way through while the drivers fight it out. Maybe the same thing is happening.

Usual advice is to check that you have the latest m-audio driver installed. M-audio do update them quite frequently - so worth double checking. Post some info if you have it and we can think further.

I am on a mac. I tried MP3 and AIF. I would say it plays for like 10-20 seconds. then cuts out. The meters in PP drop to nothing.

Then I replayed it again it cut out at 33 seconds. I let it run and it seems like the audio is trying to keep playing but doesn't even last for 1 second after the first initial drop.
