Help! Premier Pro titles

Hi there.

I currently edit with Premiere Pro 1.5

I've upgrading to Premiere Pro CS3 next week.

In the meantime, I'd like to create some titles (.prtl) using on my old version, and then import them into the new Premiere.

My question: Is this possible? Are Premiere Pro 1.5 titles compatible with Premiere Pro CS3?

We're talking about 20 hours worth of work here, so I don't want to have to do everything over again if they don't import or the formatting is messed up.

I'd really appreciate anyone's advice. Or perhaps you could even do a test if you own both programs.

Thanks a million. This will really help me out as I need to get a jump-start on the project before my upgrade arrives.

Best.

Thanks

Thanks

Good suggestion. Unfortunately my system won't handle CS3. That's why I had to upgrade the whole computer to accommodate it.

Anybody out there who knows or can do a test?

Thanks.

I have been using my Premire Pro 2 titles in CS3 without problem, you can go up but apparently you can't go backwards. Make sure to save the titles (export the titles out) and then you can import them in CS3 in case of the project is not 100% compatible at least the titles will be.

Couldn't you export all your titles as avi or mov and then just import into cs3 when you receive the upgrade? OR is it that you want to preserve the transformation capabilities?

Export ing the titles as mov or avi s not necessary and reduces Titling functionality.

The prtls will open fine in CS3

In 1.5 you can 'save as' the Title

In 2 and CS3 you have to export them (its a clunky way to do it but thats how it is unfortunately)

Great advice

Great advice

Thanks Everyone. You answered all my questions.

The fact that I can import Premiere 1.5 titles into Premiere CS3 means that I can keep this system operating and bring in another editor to work on the titles.

Fantastic.

Best.
