I'm doing a video project dedicated to the US army for a competition. I was wondering if any of you might have ideas of who to ask for getting clearance to the army strong song used in their commercials.

Your help appreciated, thanks!

I'm treading my ground lightly here. Bear with me please. :)

Nice song. I wonder what the motivation for this video is, or is intended? Is it recruiting?

In my experience, and take that as you may, the most popular song among US/Canadain/UK participants in the Iraq/Afghan war was, to me, according to my reasearch, last year, was...

Not some propaganda trumpet blowing BS. I'm NOT trying to inflame. I'm Saying, IMO, if it's a recruiting ad, and I think it is, it's propaganda BS no matter how you want to look at it.
On the other hand, go out and ask the men who are serving what they want to hear!
Then you come back and tell me!

I don't speak for the US, I'm Canadian, but I think (?) I know what I'm talking about from the research I did last year. I don't mean anything by it, I'm just saying, that's been my experience having viewed hundreds of war footage clips over the last couple years doing reasearch. And the song 'My Disease' appeard to be everywhere. From those who served and were still serving. Not some fancy trumpet blowing BS.

My opinion. I'm free to discuss it via PM if anyone is interested. :) And I happen to feel a little stongly about this, so, again, if it's a recruiting ad, just ignore what I said and go about your biz.

If not then, well, you tell me. I did my part last year. I still have the videos if you want a PM and I'll tell you, they weren't seen on national TV. These are private vids shot by the men themselves. And the most prominant song, at that time was Saliva, what I mentioned earlier. Take it from there man. You tell me then.

Sorry guys, I get a little passionate about this.:banned::beer:

Mike, I have one project with the US Army ROTC that they are hiring me to do a TV spot for them, so in that case they are involved. But, for the film festival that is my own personal project.

Batutta, thanks for that! I used their contact form online but upon pressing "submit" I get directed to some kind of error page. But thanks for that resource, it seems that page can be very helpful. I am not sure if my message got through to them though.

Thanks again guys!
