To make and long (and horrible) story very short we had to upgrade our computer at the end of a very long project.
We have been working on a Quad Mac 10.4.11, FCP 6.0.1 and QT 7.3 but the machine fried (literally) on us and Apple replaced with a 8 core Mac. We have 4 gigs of RAM btw.
All of the old internal hard drive have been installed on the new machine, so was the Blackmagic card (Decklink HD Extreme), etc... No problems here.
But we couldn't open FCP on 10.4.11, some weird issue with the new video card.
To save time and going back to WORK asap we booted on Leopard and the whole hell broke loose.
Now we can't even open our imported QT footage (DVCPRO HD 720 24pn), the audio is present but no image.
Also, FCP refuses to create a new project on DVCPRO HD settings and tell us the codec is not present?
I'm missing anything?
Is there a Panasonic drive I have long installed which I now forget?
Is freaking Apple trying to pull our legs again?
Help me!
Thanks,
Alex.
