Help please--capturing 24pA question

Hi there,
I read the sticky but still a bit confused, new to editing.

I captured my first tape, shot in 24pA, with FCP easy setup. The video is quite fuzzy,on my monitor, G5 17", so I was told to use the setting "pulldown removal".

Is this the correct setting for editing 24pA and if so, do I need to change the setting for the first tape to match those with the new pulldown removal settings in the same project? When trying to change it it said changes will only affect future captures.

Finally, if using pulldown removal, does this mean I'm editing in 23.98?, 29.97?, or 24p????
(planning to output to tape and/or DVD for film festival viewing)

thank you--

Capture setting should be DV NTSC 48 kHz Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown Removal.

Set your seq. 23.98 .

In FCP, it will show the frame rate in the session to the right of the clip. If you imported your footage wrong, it will read 29.97 and you'll have to recapture.

If you capture correctly, it will read 23.98 and you won't have to render.... and it should be clear... as long as you are not dealing with other issues.

Hope I helped... pretty new at this too. Good luck.
