I have a G5 mac. and I'm using the DVX to capture the video footage that was shot at 24adv with the 16x9 anamorphic adapter.
I've tried several video audio settings already, but i haven't been able to capture the images properly. When I do a capture the image is still squeezed.
Ok... So, when you are in FCP the image is squeezed.
Try this:
Option-Command-Q to bring up audio/video settings
Open Capture Preset Tab
Dbl Click on DVNTSC 48 Advanced Pulldown
-- This will open a NEW setting as the other one is locked
Click on the Anamorphic button
Change the Title to Anamorphic DVNTSC 48 Advanced (blah blah)
Save
Close out Viewer/Canvas/Timeline
Command-8 to open Log and Capture
Change Capture Preset to the New one you just made
Capture
Create new sequence
Click on it in the Browser and Command-Zero it to bring it up
LOAD PRESET
DVNTSC 24fps etc
Click the anamorphic button
I followed your instructions, and here's what I got:
When I open the log and capture window and press play; the image that shows on that window is perfectly unsqueezed and has letter box (unlike the image in the LCD of the camera which is simply squeezed.
Now, when I press the capture now in the loging window, and final cut begins to capture, the image is squeezed.
After I capture the image and I put in the time line, the image appears squeezed with a green line on top, sometimes a red line, the one shows that the image needs to be render.
I'm guessing the all this is happening because I've tried many set ups in the video/audio settings and maybe, I changed something that I shouldn't have.
I remember that at some point, I open the tabs in audio/video settings, went to the edit options and changed the fps from whatever to 24
Do you think that this might be the source of this problem?
