HELP "Paris Hilton" footage should I sel

I was recently a camera operater for EPK, behind the scenes for the new Paris Hilton movie, "Pledge This". I have 35 hours of behind the scenes footage that I have not been paid for. The Movie production company that hired me and my crew has been giving me the old run around about paying us for a months worth of work.They are almost 2 months late in paying us. After almost begging them to pay I am at the end of the road and Im itching to sell these tapes. I consulted a entertainment lawyer and was told that we own the footage. Because of the unique situation nothing was ever signed as far as a contract between the 2 parties. I turn to you guys for your advice in what my next step should be??????

This isn't really the place for advice of that sort -- your lawyer is your best bet. Lots of issues.

You definitely need a lawyer.  You may own the footage, but if you don't have releases on the people in the footage, you may not be able to do a thing with it.  Only a competent entertainment attorney in your state can properly advise you.

Theres really no market for a paris hilton video of anykind. The hype is over and I think nobody really cares for her. Plus you can download her stuff for free. Kendall, don't waist your time and money on getting a entertainment lawyer.Do something postive for these crazy young kids. thats my 99 cents.

they were just here in Delaware 2 weeks ago shooting the show Simple Life. I guess they make stops through all 50 states and shoot a days worth of footage for their show. I don't have any footage though but there was a big write up in the paper about people seeing them on the streets and in the mall shopping.

I thought Delaware was a town of 20,000 at the geographical center of Ohio.

Yes Delaware is a very small state BUT there is NO SALES TAX here! A lot of companies are headquarted here because of the tax break.

First I hear that delaware isn't a truck stop, then I hear that it's actually a state and not a city...now Delaware has a river? Next thing you'll be telling me how they actually get to have senators and stuff.

your atty will tell that after 90 days and 3 invoices not responded to, you can write it off.
You can report them to the BB if you really wanna mess with it.
From now on, you'll get half down from dudes ya don't know so it's not like you didn't gain anything. You learned from this.
As far as selling th paris ftg, make somethin salvagable or hawk it on ebay one tape at a time.
Your not holdin much of an ace there.

The console is custom made to fit the bay window.
It's not a home studio... it's my edit suite at work.

It's an Avid Symphony v3.1 with 750 gigs of storage and a boatload of plugins.
I can spit out a beta sp, 2 vhs tapes, a DVD and a mini DV at the same time if need be.
a 42" plasma screen makes for a great client monitor.
I built a client office and they can see what I'm doin on a component NTSC monitor while surfin' the net or logging tapes on their own viewing set up. There is a VO booth in there as well that's fed directly to my mixer which goes directly to the symphony.
I have a small studio for shooting standups on greenscreen or table top stuff and a comfy lounge with an Xbox on a 60" HDTV with surround sound. Great for whoopin' up on the clients in Halo2.
I'm a one man band and this little set up is perfect for my workflow.

Hey grinner..are you by chance the same grinner Hester who's demo reel resides somewhere in my archives?....just curious, it was a good reel as I recall
