Does anyone have a full working final cut pro 2 that I could borrow or buy? I bought what i thought was a full version from Ebay and it's only the upgrade. I don't want to waste my money on this peice of ****. I will pay for shipping.
Even if you got taken, what you're asking is still illeagal. Ebay has a complaint resolution department, I'd suggest taking it up with them, or your credit card company if you paid with credit.
It's illegal if you use a paid upgrade that you do own on a product you don't own. Now if you manage to buy the original non-upgraded registration from someone else, then it's all legal.
I honestly don't care if people take it upon themselves to break software laws, but advertising it openly in a post might not be the best use of a forum we all enjoy.
It sucks for someone to get screwed in buying an upgrade when they thought they were getting a full version, but getting screwed doesnt mitigate the legality of what he's suggesting...which is why I said that he should be contacting ebay to rectify the original problem.
I had no idea that it was illegal to share software. I thought that it was illegal to sell used software. Being"borrowed"is not making profit off someone else's work(software). I am sorry for the post. I had no idea. Rephased
Does any have the full version of FCP 2 or 1 for sale. It has to be done in an legal matter.
Let me reiterate that I'm not any kind of authority on this board or in the community at large...
Your business is your business, so don't think I'm comming down on you because I'm some sort of moderator around these parts, I'm just offering my opinion and that only carries as much weight as you give it.
I think my original point was to say that if someone legitimately scammed you, you shouldn't let them get away with it.
Either way, it stinks to get ripped off, and I understand your frustration.
Thanks man! I just don't know what to do. I want to do things legally and I don't want to start a forum indicating. I am trying to find a way to use this awesome program.
Depends on what you paid for the upgrade and what version it brings you to. The upgrade cost plus the full, older version you want now should total less than the $950 for a full retail FCP HD. If you paid, say, $400 for the upgrade, and you'd be happy spending a total of $800, bid $400 on the full. You save at least $150, maybe more if you're lucky. (P.S. You might also consider getting a copy of the O'Reilly Press book Ebay Hacks ....many good tips in it.) Hope this helps.
And that's an upgrade from any version to 4? If so, you can bid high and still get a good deal. Or, if you're a student, you can get a full academic copy of HD with Buy It Now for about $450 and just sell your upgrade. (Whatever you do, be sure they promise it's unopened. I got scammed once on accounting software...box had everything but the reg. # that I needed to change it from a 30-day demo to full version.)
