So I got a cinemek g35, which I love; and it worked great before I took a plane trip. BUT...now my G35 is out of focus!!!!!!
I went about the usual procedure of focusing on the ground glass: I
stopped the SLR lens all the way down and set it at infinity focus;
with the camera's iris wide open I focused until I got the peaking on the grain
of the ground glass.
But then when I open the SLR iris back up and focus on things, it can
barely focus on anything! I've tested three lenses: 24mm f2, 50mmf1.4,
and 85mm f2 (all nikon): only with the 85mm can I focus on a few
objects 10 feet away or so. Even when I attached an SLR lens on the
G35 and look at it unattached to a camera, it looks badly out of
focus.
I tested my camera without the G35 and it is perfectly fine in terms of
focus. I also looked through the SLR lenses (with my eye) and they
also seem perfectly in focus.
The only thing I can think of is that I was recently on a flight with
the G35 in its pelican case in my luggage. The plane ride couldn't
have made the optics out of wack or something, could it? I thought it
was supposed to be pressure tested so that taking it on a plane
wouldn't be a problem.
Any IDEAS???????????
