Re: Help on Slow Motion Keyframing

Use the "Time Remap" tool. This will let you have different speeds.

Re: Help on Slow Motion Keyframing

A little more to it, the trick is the option key:

Switch “Toggle Clip Keyframes” in Timeline to On

Grab the Time Remap Tool from the Toolbar.

Move the playhead to the frame where you would like to begin slo-mo.

Hold the Option Key.

Click and Hold on the Frame, a tool tip window appears telling you the clip is 100% on the left and right.

What we’re going to do is vary the speed of the clip, speeding it up at the beginning and slowing it down towards the middle.

As we move the mouse to the left, we see the numbers changing. The percentage indicates speed. More than 100% would be faster, Less than 100% would be slower.

We’ll move to the mouse left until we hit about Left 200% and Right 70%

Play.

Let’s make the ending of the clip Play at 100%.

Locate the frame where you would like the action to return to Normal Speed. Option click and drag right until your speed right is about 100%

If you don’t want the beginning to play so fast:

Option click about 1 second into the clip, move to the left until you reach Right 100%

Trim off the first second of fast frames.

If we would like to smooth out the speed transition,

Double click to load the clip into the viewer

Motion Tab > Disclosure Triangle : Time Remap

Control-click on the later keyframe and choose Smooth.

Leave the first one linear.
