Hey guys - going into NYC tomorrow and am looking to get a polizer filter to screw on the lens. Can anyone recommend a brand? Also, a rep from Schneider told me I may need a "slim" polarizer to prevent vignetteing (sp?). Can anyone confirm? Thanks guys!

The slim polarizer allows stacking of the filter without vignetting. So you can leave on your UV filter and just add the Polarizer when you need it. If you don't use any other filters on your camera, then I don't believe you need that "SLIM" version.

However you probably want to confirm this with one of the expert residents on this site. ;)

Re: help on a polarizer filter

I'd settle for nothing less than a multicoated polarizer.

...also make sure it's a circular polarizer if you're interested in using the autofocus feature.

Yeah, stay away from Linear. It wont work right if your shooting video.
