Help Needed to setup my Editing Panel

hello everyone,

I am thinking of buying a Mac pro system recently but I am really confused about the video card. I will be working with HDV, DVCproHD n sometimes even higher formats for film. I need to get a card that will give me great performance in CC and Vfx also. I will be doing high end compositing in After effects also.

I should be able to edit in realtime n also in After effects while compositing.

The shop where I am buying from has suggested Kona LSe or Matrox MXO. But I am still kinda confused on what should be best for my work. So any suggetion would be highly appreciated.

My budget for video card is within $1000-$1500

Oh I am also getting a 14" professional monitor. They suggested Logi Pro Trinitron BVM-14F5E. Do you think this monitor is good for giving accurate color n all.

If you think I can bypass the monitor part by using any other technology to get the accuarate broadcast preview than pls share also.

No matter what video card you get, you will not get realtime in after effects, it just doesnt work like that.

if you're in a rush, get the middle mac pro as is.. with a few gigs of extra ram.. take that 1500 and get you a Kona LHe and you'll be good... Otherwise wait until mid april when apple is possibly updating the mac pro line..

thanks alot for ur reply.....so ur saying that Kona LHe will be enough to deal with HD real time editing n giving a good broadcast color..?? Does it also perform good with DVCProHD format..?

what do u think abt Maxtor MXO ? I will be shooting lot of time laps stuff ..so does it has to do anything with the video card capturing for supporting different frame rate ??

n how abt professional monitor..? do you have any suggetion for that..?
