I just bought a Dynex DX-MW010 65" tripod off a seller on Ebay. Thought I got a pretty good deal. But when it arrived today, it was missing the quick-release mounting plate -- without which the tripod is useless.
A more detailed scan of the seller's Ebay listing shows he sneakily buried the words "camera mounting plate not included" at the END of the list of things INCLUDED with the tripod. I missed it. That was my stupid mistake.
So now I have to try to find a quick-release plate that will fit it. If such a thing exists. I've sent an email to Dynex, but I'm not hopeful -- they don't even list tripods on their website anymore. And a search of the web has yielded pretty much nothing. Since Dynex tripods were pretty much exclusively sold through Best Buy, I've sent their parts people an email as well. Again, I don't expect them to be much help. They no longer carry this tripod.
So I just wondered if anyone out there had any ideas. I hate to just throw the thing away, but it's not much good to me without a mounting plate.
