I had a similar topic in the cafe and didn't want to open a second one just for a poll so I'm doing it here

"Shindig" has been decided as the name of the company, but before i grab the domain name, which i hope is very soon I need to decide whether to call it Shindig Studios, Shindig Pictures, or something else.

I like Studios because it leaves it open to non movie stuf, mostly my music, seems like a no brainer, but Pictres does sound cool, so I'm just asking you guys if anyone thinks it sounds cool enough that its a done deal, if Studios is the obvious choice or if I'm just stupid and should be choosing something else.

Go with Pictures.....

Reminds me of the studio in "Hollywood boulevard" (the movie), Miracle Pictures. "If it's a good picture, it's a Miracle"

or in "Barton Fink". "The contents of your mind is the property of Captial Pictures."
 
You could go with Studios and call yourself the SS!

I kid, I kid. Not really that funny actually anyway...

Definitely go with Pictures.
 
You said "my music", so I don't have enough information. If this will be the producer of music as well, "Studios" seems to make sense. If it is a movie company, then "Pictures" is better.

Anyway, yes music as in recording and producing music. Of coarse right now I'm interested in getting the site up so I can promote movie stuff, and music videos, shorts, and (please god) features are the main goal.

I can also get www.shindigpictures.com now and if i feel the need, get www.shindigstudios.com later for music, and link them.

So if it was just for what sounds better, is it Shindig Pictures or Shindig Studios? :)
 
I like studios better, but you could register both names. Its only an extra $10 and buys you time to change your mind.

no, actually no i won't. But I'll think about it. :)

In the mean time, yeah i think I'll buy both, and everyone seems to like Pictures so I'll put that in the logo for now. I can always change it right? ;)

Sounds like a plan. It worked for Bill Rassmussen and Scotty Connell.
 
Better do a check and make sure none of these names are being used by anyone else's company or you may get a "cease and desist" letter like we did when we tried to use SEE Productions.
 
I say go with Shindig Studios. The "Studios" gives the company name a broader range of things that it can produce...at least to those looking from the outside. My two cents. Peace.
 
To me, anything "Studios" sounds ridiculously pretentious. Admit it, you don't even have one studio, let alone multiple studios. :happy: "Pictures" is better, but still kind of grandioise for a one-man show. You'd better have some flunkies to back that up. "Productions" is a little more down-to-earth. I like Shindig as a name, but keep it playful rather than pretentious.
 
How about just, "Shindig: A privately owned company that makes stuff, while we hold get togethers and dance". That would probably be best.
