HELP!! my lav is not working!

Hi guys,

I have a shure wireless laviliere mic. It has a mini-plug. My dvx100 obviously only has an xlr input, so i bought an xlr to 1/8th adaptor, then 1/8 to mini adaptor. I hear the person in the lav just fine, but the camera isn't picking it up. Any ideas? are there any other methods besides a beachtek or something like that that i could try? Thanks alot. P.S. I also am thinking about buying a audiotechnica at-897b shotun. Any opinions?

Are you sure you have your inputs set correctly? Plug the XLR into input 2, and then switch both channels to input 2. Turn the levels to "mic" not line, and try turning phantom power on. You may have already done all this, if that's the case, i'm not sure what to do :(
 
I think PDX has it right that ur level is probably set to line instead of mic. Don't use the phantom power though, a wireless receiver doesn't need it and phantom sent to a miniplug could be a problem.
 
I tried setting the inputs to "mic" and the channel select to "input 2" but i get no levels. I hear the other person in the headphones connected to the lav, but the camera doesnt pick it up. Any suggestions? thanks alot,

i wrote bullshit in the privius reply thinking you use the mike allone without the tx , so what iam thinking that you have xlr to pl mini mono feemail , what brings you to short to ground the pl mini stereo out signal whicjh come from your reciever
check that you have not shorting the signal with the xlr adaptor or tou have not short inside the cable which run from the reciever to the camera ground
