Here I go ladies and gents. I have been working my ass off lately and have managed to save enough money to buy an HVX, well sort of. In order to have enough money to buy the HVX in time for the free p2 card, I'll have to sell my dvc30. My dvc30 has been my primary camera for a little over a year now and I love it. My other option is to keep the dvc30 and buy a DVX to use with it so I would have 2 cameras. I need some advice, please!!!

Well, you need to decide which features you need...
- How important is HD footage to you?
- Will you need variable framerates for your upcoming projects?
- Will you need multiple cameras for your upcoming projects?

My film group recently had to decide between getting the HVX or a second DVX (and saving a bit of money). We ultimately decided on HVX because it would benefit us in future projects. Basically it comes down to what you need: multiple cameras or a wider variety of features on a single camera.

How would footage from a dvx look upscaled to 35mm?
Looks fine; there have been many DVX films in the theaters, the most recent of which was Jackass 2 (although they weren't really going for high cinematography quality on that one, I'm sure). HD will look better, but DVX is acceptable on the big screen, especially the further back in the theater you sit!
