HELP me with this

I was experimenting with Magic Bulllet filters and fcp crashed a couple of times. Now, after adding filters to a clip, everytime I go to open that file, it won't open, it starts to load then FCP crashes. I hate MB because of this, it always causes a problem and I have a good G5 going here. Any ideas please?

OK, opened the file on another system with no problem, deleted the clips with MB 'Misfire" filters applied to them and then opened it up again in the other computer with no issues....Whew! Did not want to lose my movie...Anyone else have this problem with this software?

You have to get the upgrade of MB to work on an Intel Mac. The older, non-Intel compatible version will crash an Intel Mac.

Contact the Magic Bullet people. If you're not on an Intel, there shouldn't be a problem.

But, knowing your hardware set up would help. Especially, how much RAM do you have installed, what is your CPU speed and Mac model, and what is your hard drive set up?

OK here goes:

OS X ver 10.4.8
Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5
3.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM
Hard drives, one internal, one external. (Not the system drive on the internal)

Does that help any?
Oh, using FCP 4.5 HD

I suspect what is going is that one timeline used a prior version of MBE, and version 1 and 2 are not compatible

--or--

what are the specs of the 2nd machine? What version of FCP-- if you have version 5.1 you need the FX Plug updtae regardless of whether you are on an Intel MAC or not.

and... the versions of MBE must be matching.

Funny thing is, the other machine is older:

Imac G4
OS X 10.4.8
1 GHz PowerPC G4
512 MB DDR SDRAM

Same FCP version on this machine which is 4.5HD

At the time I used the systems internal drive

Weird, the Imac is clearly the 'weaker' of the 2 yet I was able to open FCP & delete the clip...

I got MB with Barry's book when I got my DVX, can I still update the software if needed?
