Hey. In the 'capture preset editor' is the setting for "FPS" supposed to be set to 29.97 0r 23.98? I shot with 24pA. The problem is the footage looks too stroby, I know there's a setting off someplace. Under quicktime settings should it be set to interlaced or progressive? Thanks a lot!

PS: Is it ok to apply the advanced remove pulldown after you import from the tools menu? Will it affect quality etc..?

24fps is actually 23.98. You have to shoot 24pA and apply the pulldown when you capture it, as you've done. As for looking looking "stroby", could be that you didn't plan your moving shots properly. When you do 24fps, motion has to be handled much differently than shooting 60i. IF I'm understanding the problem correctly. You want to use the preset named "DV NTSC 48 kHz Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown" for 24pA footage. If the motion looks stroby, I personally would think about how fast the motion is going across the screen, and think about the way 24p handles motion. Barry's book (either DVX or HVX versions) covers this issue very well.
