Hey guys,
I am buying a used Letus and getting rails with it. They are coming from Ben Huddleston (another forum member). His are cavision but will not have the hand grips or shoulder mount, here is a link to his: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=174875.
I was thinking I might get indirailSproXV(sm)... They are $269 and come with everything I need to shoot tripod and handheld...
Help me out, what are the goods and bads of each.
thanks

The Cavision one looks like a better option since it's adjustable by those thumb screws at multiple points while the Indifocus has only a single screw. In my experience that screw comes off very easily (you can twist it right off) and it can become worn out pretty quickly. The Indifocus also has a fixed height while the Cavision seems to be height adjustable from the pictures.

Jrod, i did notice they were Cinevate not Cavison,

I would pass on the IndierailsSproXVsm, the shoulder pad is limited in it's adjustability as Huy Vu pointed out. Though it will useful to get a set of extra rods. The Shoulder pad from Cavison the new one V3 is $99.99 , it pivots and tilts and shifts in height, etc. Just velcro a pad , foam for more comfort, I have one , for the price it is excellent. I have a set of the Cavision extended handles as well, they adjust several ways and are a great buy for the price. Also you will need to slide the shoulder pad underneath the center of weight.

Bottom line, adjustability and strength, you don't want to hear the thing creaking as you pan and tilt it. Later, Add it's own rails and a QR plate and have it become a self contained Hand held rig. Slide it off and mount it on a tripod with a matching QR adapter

I find if you mount your Handles directly to the follow focus rails it shifts upwards and tweaks your lens and matte box slightly. You can see it moving, That's why i recommend a second set of rails. These components work in conjuction with many others you can add on later, at a 1/4 of the price of other manufacturer's set ups. You also will be start to face too much weight up front, so longer rods at the back to slide on batteries, wireless, etc will be counterweight the rig.
Here are a few picts as ideas.

Cheers

I'd get a new or used cavision rail system over the old school cinevate system. The cavisions are about 160 bucks new and are fully adjustable and come with a lens or mattbox mount.
