Help Me With Names To Cast My Film

as some of you know, i will be co-producing a low budget HD feature that goes before cameras this september. well, it's time for a heavy casting push and I'm turning to the dvxuser community for ideas. the two leads are an older married couple...

WILLIAM: (looks late 60's early 70's) - Average, quiet, retired shop owner. Struggling to find the meaning of his days, his life. Haunted by choices long ago. Numb, on the verge of an awakening.

JULIE: (looks late 50's early 60's) - Simple, plain, content in her apartment, her plants, her records, her cat – if only she could clean the air of her husband’s presence. Maybe she could. Maybe she will.

what i'm looking for are some name actors and actresses from film or tv that you've admired in the past and who are no longer working consistantly. for example, two of the names we're submitting to the casting director next week are Martin Landau and Ben Gazzara.

Landau would knock a role like that out of the park. I don't think I can top that suggestion.

well, if the stars align, he reads the material, digs it, and we can negotiate terms that satisfy everyone, he'd be our ideal "William". but the reality of that is something else.

so any suggestions are good suggestions... :)

also, Brandon posted in another thread about this weekend's AOF fest. i followed the link and look who they are honoring with an award. John Saxon.

Some recognizable faces that I'd suggest that may meet all or most of your criteria...

M. Emmet Walsh
Paul Dooley
Judd Hirsch
Seymour Cassel
Ron Rifkin
Dick Miller
