I'm a noob with FCP. I'm working with a bunch of HVX 24fps clips, and GL2 clips shot in Frame mode.
I'm editing these clips in a 24 timeline on FCP. My GL clips are super choppy. I realize why. I'm just wondering what the best way to edit these 2 different kinds of footage together is?
Thanks for helping a noob.:embarasse

Never worked with the GL2, but to my understanding Frame Mode is 30P right? So you're bringing in 30 fps footage. You said with the HVX you shot 24 fps. That's a tough pair to try and mix for cutting. You need to decide what format/frame rate you are going to finish at first. That will then dictate what frame rate the timeline will be. Then you have to deal with converting one set of footage into another frame rate.

If you have Final Cut Pro 6, you can mix the formats/frame rates on the timeline. It wll conform the timeline/footage to the settings of the first clip you put onto the timeline. But with the 30 to 24 or 24 to 30 situation you're going to have to deal with, I don't know how far I would trust FCP to natively do that. You might need to use Cinema Tools or such.

Cheers.
