Help me out

Me and 5 friends recently started in investment group, we're just getting it of the ground, we're trying to come up with a cool logo for the company.

The name is "Ushindi" we were thinking about doing something funky with the letter "U" maybe someone can take a shot at it, my designing skills are as good as Ben Affleck in Gigli.
 
Good questions, we always get ask what's a Ushindi, it's Swahili for Success, Trimph, Victory...

And yes, we're looking for a Logo design. Basically the theme of the company is to gain Capital in ways of investing in different avenues. We're basically out to make money and become successful and grow. There's not one specific thing we're going to invest in.

A good example, there's 6 members and I'm the only filmmaker, say I wanted the Company(Ushindi) to invest in a film project I was doing, instead of going to a bank or an Investor, I can borrow the money from myself, in that case the company. But I would have to present something to the rest of the 5 members in order to get approve.

In that goes for the rest of the 5 members, say if Ed wanted to buy a restaurant, he would have to do the same, so we can do individual investments or the company itself can invest in something, say like a Club.. just an example.

There's alot more details involve, but that's the base.

As for the Logo, each of us we're giving the task of coming up with a logo, I told the members I can't draw, but I'm going to use some resources, so here I am, hope someone can help.

That looks kinda Cool Como, we don't have a slogan or nothing, but if we did we can include that.

Thanks alot everyone for the help, TMT, that looks pretty interesting, I think it would be hard to read though and it looks a little too cartoonish, but thanks for the effort.

And Jon I really like the one in Red, I will present some of these to the rest of the guys and get their opinion.

Not to be a snob, but if you're an investment group, why not spend some money and pay a real designer to get high quality, the way that company Zak references did?
 
At this point we're an investment group with $0 funds. We're coming with ways to build capital, not to say we might not go that route of a designing company, we wanted to see what we can come up with on our own first, save money if you know what I mean.
 
Oh, got it. Starting from the ground up. I got the impression you were already moving money (though in a sense, it's your job to give that impression!).

Kyler, that looks pretty cool, can You somehow bring the U into focus in the background? And can you try one where the U is in the forground? With that design, there's different various we can probably play around with, but I like it.
