Help me get a G5

It's interesting that this guy's inspired so much wrath in people. At least he's being creative about it.
 
Just curious. He's a working video editor right?

5 years. As an entrepreneur myself, I think it's in the handbook that you should budget for upgrades etc... If you can't make enough to purchase vital supplies then maybe its time too shift strategy.

Or find yourself a honey pot o' gold - I hear there are many Cougars looking for a toy boy. A G5 would be an easy fee.

Hmmm, Tsunami relief or buy a Hippy a G5?

Toby Stew

* 1 three pound Toby
* 6 small onions, chopped
* 1 bay leaf
* ½ cup chopped celery
* 2 tsp. salt
* 2 cups diced carrots
* 3 raw potatoes, cut up
* 3 tbs. flour
* 1 tbs. chopped parsley

Clean Tobyand soak in salted water. This is called brining and it makes Toby nice and tender. Drain, disjoint it in pieces for serving and place in a large kettle with onions, bay leaf, celery and salt.Cover with cold water and cook slowly until tender, about two hours. Add chopped carrots and potatoes and continue cooking until these vegetables are done. Smooth flour with a little cold water and add slowly. When thickened, add chopped parsley and serve.

The guy's just a struggling editor. (Judging from the video it's easy to see why) Tons of struggling editors all over the place. He chose a clever way to market himself to get peoples aid. He doesn't seem that talented, if he'd actually posted some good work he might even get more donations. I don't really care about the guy, but I also don't want to kick the **** out of him for trying to get money for a G5.

I think it's clever the way he marketed himself, because it's not enough to have talent. Same with the Savetoby site, it's hilarious and those guys we're shrewd enough to put together a book to sell.
 
I don't have any hatred for the dude; anymore than I do for the vagrant piece of shite standing outside the 7-11 stinking up the place asking for handouts to feed his junkie habit.

It's just self respect. It's not clever. It's not some out-of-the-box idea. It's almost pathetic. You're gonna ask for it? Just ask? "Hey guys, can I have some money?"

I think it's weak. I bust my ass everyday to take care of my family. I do without and make sacrifices for things I want (as do most of us). Some people are just sponges.

Struggling editor? what does that even mean? He's not marketing himself; he's asking for handouts.

He's probally laughing at the sucker's who sent money.

Begging just annoys me really... the bit with the beer annoys me even more. Maybe I am not cool enough. If he had made a decent short to demonstrate his potential, sure, lets help. But a video of his mate downing beer and saying he'll blow up his perfectly good machine just pisses me off.

...I don't really want to beat him to death... but if it gets me a new G5...well :evil:

No, I'm talking about how a thread like this diminishes so quickly and becomes other people's opinions. I thought the original thing was funny.

Opinions are important and some of what is discussed in this thread deserves to be heard. All I'm saying is, lighten up.

Of course, that's just my opinion :evil:

I don't think this guy is what we we should all be arguing about people. I think the true point we should be making is saving Toby the wabbit. If you don't save him I will be having the worst 20th birthday of my life, then again there will always be more 20th birthdays :)

Sorry, but that second statement sounds a little like hatred.

I agree with what Disjecta said. A lot of threads have been disintegrating into opinion shout contests. Most of the time very little is said and only a few loud voices are heard.

Again, I don't know the guy and I'm not gonna pass judgment on him and call him a vagrant, or a clown. Technically he's not a bum, because he is going to blow up his G4. Obviously people want to see that happen or they wouldn't be giving him money.

The thread was kind of funny. A rabbit being held hostage for fifty thousand dollars is also kind of funny.
 
Haha Rob, I too will have a terrible 20th birthday! Well... maybe 21 days after the rabbit is gone. I say we head er on down there and rescue that sonofabitch!

I wasn't seriously thinking about killing the guy!! :shocked:
